This traditional shichimi pepper is produced by a shichimi pepper manufacturer that has been around in Japan for 280 years.
The seven ingredients used are chili peppers for spiciness, sansho (Japanese pepper) and ginger for both spiciness and aroma, hemp seed for flavor and aroma, sesame seeds, chenpi (dried citrus peel), and shiso (evergreen shiso).
Each ingredient contributes to the delicious and unique flavor, and is a great addition to miso soup, udon, soba, and other soups like nabe.
